Unexpected signs of change

Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious summer by this son of York...(RIII sc.1 v.1-2)
Unexpected signs of life.

    1. The flowering shrub blooms in deep winter always, but I don't know exactly what it is. The stray daffodils are up too early because they're in pots and the soil warmed too soon.
