Random 5 Friday 06/21/13

Sorry I've missed a week or so of R5F. I just was uninspired I guess.

Here is this week's efforts however.

1.  Maria Parker of RAAM is kickin' a$$ and taking names! She leads all the remaining women, and had passed a number of the men including some RAAM veterans.  I have enjoyed  watching her race more than I ever enjoyed the TDF.

2.  The Monkeys completed a week of swim lessons last week. They enjoyed it and learned something too!

3.  I've been fretting this year over my low ride mileage, but June is shaping up to be a good month finally.

4.  I'm not ready for the summer solstice! By Sunday the days will begin to get shorter by about one minute a day.

5.  DH will be in a class all weekend, so I will not get any rides in, and will have to wrangle monkeys all weekend too.  I'm trying to think of something enjoyable to do with them that we have not done in a while...maybe metal detecting?

  1. Oh you have peaked my interest with metal detecting I would love to come and play:) or you can come here I have 200 acres imagine the time that would consume:)
I do hope you get more biking in. Have a nice weekend. B

  2. Pierce is doing swim lessons right now too. He has 2 weeks left.

  3. Metal detecting sounds like fun, we recently saw where a man and his grandson found an old Roman coin on the beach..

  4. Oooo! Metal detecting! That is FUN! :D

  5. Doesn't seem fair that we have one day to celebrate summer, then the days start getting shorter again.

Thanks so much for joining in today!

  6. metal detecting could be a barrel of fun for your monkeys. Okay, that's lame. Just couldn't resist.

  7. Metal detecting ... should be fun for all. Summer arrives and the days get shorter .. downhill to fall ....Enjoy your riding time. Summer and swimming ... YES!

  8. I hope you're able to get some riding in. I'm out of my ortho boot but not riding the bike yet.

Metal detecting--fun! My brother and his son used to do that and found some interesting things in the yard.

  9. Looking at your map, you've seen a lot of the U.S. Do you tour around a state when you visit it? Metal detecting would probably be a big hit with the kids.

  10. My son loves metal detecting. Good luck!

  11. Bless your heart; it's been rather uninspiring around here as well. Either that or depression, could be both. Summer already...what happened to New Year's? Wonder if I breathed more slowly time would pass more slowly?

  12. I hope your metal detecing turned out nice (and that you guys could do it). I am sorry to be so late in returning your visit. I posted Friday and ran. We went to San Antonio (Texas) for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend. It was a fun place, we hadn't been for a long time.

I hope you are able to get a lot of riding done soon. It is too hot here almost to ride. I will play golf though.

I blog for myself, my family and friends, and of course the Hounds! I love to read your comments, and I always read them all.
